What 4*4 vehicles are being targetted for extra road tax?

does Diesel operated mitsubushi 4*4 come into this category as gas guzzlers

Answers:
Let's not forget how dangerous they are if you were to hit a person.

Frankly I think they should be banned. They're not necessary if you're not in the country. They're just for jumped up arrogant people and lazy mums who can't be bothered to walk their kids to school.
i think its all 4x4 i think its bad i have one to tow my caravan
It's not just 4x4's that'll be hit. It's a lot of executive cars as tax is based on the amount of co2 that is emitted.

I drive a Mitsubishi Pajero and run it, legally, on a 50/50 mix of diesel and vegetable oil. But we still have to pay the tax based on the original spec, even though the co2 emissions have halved.

I completely agree regarding people who own these things and don't go anywhere near the country side.

Where I live, it's a necessity as the roads are so bad.
Its all 4x4's. Its a good thing. Although they shouldn't be taxed they should be banned. We someone needs one to take their kids to school is beyond me
All petrol driven 4x4s are targets . and most of the diesel ones will be too if Red Ken gets his way.

Buy a Toyota Prius . it'll be fast enough for most traffic situations!
yes as far as Im aware all 4x4 cars are
i think its pretty much all 4x4 which wont really solve the problem ,as far as i can see the people who will be affected most are tradesmen who need vehicles like this to transport tools/materials etc thus adding to the cost of the bill they give you when you want work done ,the problem wouldnt be with us if it wasnt for bimbo mothers who "need" a bmw x5 to take their one child to school which is a stones throw from their house .The local primary school in my area is like a monster truck show each morning
they are gas guzzlers, take extra room, and they tend to intimidate other drivers.
