I recently scratched my friend's car out of anger, what is the best way to get rid of these scratches?
Answers:
Blame the cat.
Try some good polish
You should just pay to fix it and the question you should be asking is why do I do violent things to my friends and how can I stop doing stuff like this.
how could you!?.. replace it!
Start with Maguiars Scratch-X, or go to www.maguiars.com and check out the user forums for more info
the best thing you can do is go to a body shop and have them buffed out. it will cost you about 125.00 bucks. nothing on the consumer market really works that well.
pee on it or put Vaseline on it
if not deep try t-cut
otherwise you might need a repair stick from halfords
Drive the car in to a lake. Make sure it sinks.
(Also, make sure you get out of the car before it sinks)
t-cut, or seeing how you did it out of badness get it done professionally. remember thats somebodys pride and joy
Try "Chips Away" in the yellow pages. It's their speciality.
Burn the car, all the paint will vanish and no more scratches.
TA-DA!
Lots of scratch repair companys in the yellow pages. They charge about £30 per panel.
I would have bumped you over with it.
But weren't there a scratch repair thing out years ago? Something by turtlewax. Look in Halfords.
And next time have a proper scrap you sly turd.
Tell them that you did it by accident (if its not too big) Im sure it was an accident after all.. If not, point it out, pretend you know nothing about it and if only a scratch suggest that they get an appropriately coloured T-Cut from any Halfords. Its a kind of polish that gently re-lifts and spreads the paint already around the scratch. X
try T-cut
Thank you
Scissors! Minor?
No polish will conceal those. The paint is gone.
Those polishes are made for very minor "abrasions".
Look at the surface around the key hole on a door. One will see an "abrasive" appearance from the hands and finger nails as a result of merely turning the key. Polish may hide those.
The best way to get rid of the scratches is to tell your friend what you did you crazy horse. Then you can arrange to get it fixed at a garage and pay for it. If your friend still wants to be your friend then you should thank your lucky stars you have someone in your life that is that understanding. You are obviously very remorseful, don't just leave it. You owe it to your pal to let them decide, otherwise you are just manipulating them. If there was some huge barney or event that led up to you losing it like this, your friend might understand a bit better. If you did this out of jealously or spite then you need to speak to a professional about whats going on in your head love.
Try colour magic plus its a polish that comes with a crayon the shape of a lipstick you buy the colour that matches the car. All you do after the car is washed put rub the lipstick over the scratch then polish the car with the colour magic. I did it with a car that had been keyed from front to back and it lasted for a couple of years cost about £8
If T Cut doesn't work use rubbing compound, from Carplan or Holts, if that won't get it out, you may have to use fine wet and dry.
This is only any good if you have not gone through to the primer, if so seek professional help.
Most modern cars have a clear laquer topcoat, you run the risk of damaging that with the above methods, leaving the pigment paint coat unprotected - not good
better get macco r get a sharpie
Yes you can remove the scratches with scratch removers from a car accessory shop, depending on the depth. if you run you fingers over the scratch and you can feel a definition of the scratch, then these products will not work. In any case you have to be careful using this product or you can make it worse and in the end pay for total respray.
If you are going to do your self for deeper indentations, again you can buy the products in a large car accessory shop, you will need to sand the the area down, using fine wet and dry sand paper, You sand it by dipping the sandpaper in water first, You sand it down so you no longer can feel the scratch. Again on the depths of the scratch you may have to add filler smooth level with the body of the car, let it dry, then you have to apply primer paint, let it dry, then apply thin coats of the match paint. It is very labour and time intensive process. if you don't know what you are doing you could do more damage.
The other alternative, is to go round find a small body sprayer, the large ones tend to deal with insurance companies and are expensive, get it professionally repaired.
Other alternative would be for your friend to contact his insurance (if he is fully comprehensive insured) and make a claim. His loss will be a no claims bonus for a year, which you may wish to consider reimburse as it is cheaper than having to pay for a repair.
If he doesn't know it was you, keep your trap shut! If he does, and you want to stay friends, do the honourable thing and tell him to get it done properly, and you foot the bill.
Try T-Cut, if the car is Metalic use T-Cut metalic as the orig is too abrasive for metalics. If that does not work then you can get touch up pencils but make sure it is the right colour or it will show up on the car.
?? izzit a friend or you got caught in e act?? try buying a poly polisher by 3M and u definately need a orbital polisher machine to remove the scratch off fm e car. E poly polisher has different kinds of color contrast. This is what i can advise u. Dun be foolish next time.. tk cr..
