Why is my 1990 Ford Escort 1.4 Making Strange Beeping Noises?
Answers:
If one of the red dashboard lights is continually on, the engine needs emergency attention
Gremlins lurking..be careful when you put it through a car wash.
I believe it's flashing codes, take to dealer
May be it's a recycled herbie?
i think its in emergency mode in the ecu - you need to get to a dealer to get it sorted. it will not drive properly either
good luck
either that or you have a really cr@p cd in the car !
It is possible there is an timer in the clock itself. Try to reset the clock and see if this helps.
the light next to your clock is an alarm light so i would look at the alarm first most probably water in it it is 16 years old after all
you run over a roadrunner. beep beep
Probably the clock has an alarm on it. Or it is the cars alarm playing up. Nothing to do with the ECU or engine management as I read others have said, it's far to old to have that type of technology in. Won't be much, on those type of cars the only noise to worry about is a deep roar or knocking, nothing much else to go wrong,
If it has air bags then it is the air bag module, and it either is bad or a problem in the circuit.
I had a escort one time that sounded like a cat meeowing. no joke but only did it after shutting it off.
had the same problem ,but mine was also failing to start sometimes, it turned out to be the alarm and imobilzer that was faulty, ihad it disconected and thank god 2 weeks later someone knicked it and toasted it.
if its the light next to the clock its something to do with the alarm, or immobiliser, i suggest you take it to a garage to av it looked at, as if the immobilise sets then obviously the car won't start, but either way it should not cost too much
bail fast it is about to blow up ha ha ha
