Hello i own a P Reg Mk 6 Escort and i am havibg problems with my sunroof it all started when i tried to fit a new drivers window visor what happened was i had to unscrew the sunroof open and close lever as both visors and the sunroof lever come as one fitting the screw was damaged (probably by the previous owner) i tried to drill the screw in order to unscrew it to no avail so i opened the sunroof (tilted open) and i unscrewed the retaining screws in order to see what was holding the screw in however when i placed it all back the sunroof cord was all over the place and now i cant slide open or close my sunroof i can open it the tilt way but only just i am desperatley in need of some help .advice and anyone please help me on this one

Sunroofs are a disaster and very fiddly when you rip them apart. Any slight fixture in the wrong place and it wont work properly. Just sit back and think of everything you did from start to finish. you will probably need to take it apart again. Any strain anywhere in its operation will cause it to malfunction.
You could always go to a breakers yard and look at one there and see if you can see any differences. Best of luck as you need a hell of a lot of patience with them
