Which is the best dump valve to use on a impreza wrx turbo?
Answers:
Assuming you mean the blow-off.
Factory is the safest, Subaru sets the the max at over 14 PSI and they are fail safe "open". Most of the tuner units out there can over pressurize and jack up the motor, especially if you don't know what you are doing. Basically you'll get minimum gain in power and maximum risk to the motor.
Free flow exhaust and a chip will yield more power and won't hurt the motor.
Have you had a look on scoobynet.co.uk? Or have a word with rsemotorsportuk.com.
dump valve? do you mean the recirculating valve (on the intercooler)? if so, is the one you have now a blow-off valve (makes the whoooosh noise between shifts)? if that answer is yes, you NEED a recirculating valve that doesn't make the noise. if you could give us a little more insight that would help us to help you.
A really loud one, the noisiest you can get, so that you look and sound like a complete chav when you drive it.
do a serch for www.scoobymainia its a good site
yeah what mike said is basically right, ur best to stay with the standard dump valve, you dont want a subaru going wrong, when they do. your pocket will soon know about it believe me!
look for the APS, but whatever you choose, make sure you buy a RECIRCULATING bov, full dump bov will make your engine run rich between shifts and after blows unless you somehow manage to adjust air sensor parameters on a UTEC for your car.
