Yes, you need to cry. It probably is the gasket, but it could be the head that has cracked. You'll need to get that crack-tested to make sure it hasn't cracked internally where you can't see it. If it is the gasket, then the head will need to be skimmed 'cos you can bet your life it will be warped. You'll need gaskets, coolant, new cambelt and tensioners, head-bolts, the cost of the crack-test, the cost of the labour. this is going to hurt if you have it done properly. You could always bodge it.
50 pounds. buy the gasket and a Haynes manual and do it yourself, slowly and carefully. use a torque wrench.
weep . weep for all you are worth!!
Actually it wont be too bad if its not done by volvo ! Take my advice do it yourself and skim the head with a piece of glass!
start looking for a decent car
volvo are far to over rated
just take a long deep breath and then start crying its going to be a big bill
T5 = high performance = high upkeep and repair costs.
Bad news, on the T5 because of the extra pressure applied, you don't very often get away with just replacing a gasket, you'll probably need to replace the whole head. Though it could be worse, as you only have 1 head on those, take it off (it's not that difficult) and inspect it carefully. You'll be looking for a barely visible hairline fracture. If you really cannot find any you may be lucky, but be througher
