Speeding fine in germany?

After a wonderful time at The World Cup got a letter through from the German police saying I have a speeding fine. I admitted the offence, but now I am unsure as to whether it is a scam, and now to pay the fine as it is in Euros. There is a payment slip with the letter, but its all in German. The fine is for €99 after exceeding the limit by 31km/h Any ideas?

Answers:
Chances are it is genuine if it has the payment slip with it and the amount seems about right, if you were doing over 30km/h over the limit then you will probably find you have a short ban from driving in Germany as well.

It is a little while since I last got one so I can't remember the ins and outs but you can either, as suggested try to get hold of the German Embassy and see if they can advise you, or just ignore it, chances are that they won't chase you but you never know.
you're screwed. the Polizei will get you!
Go to the German consulate and have them verify the ticket. If it is in fact valid, you can go to a international bank and have the funds wired in the proper amount.
heck the way i see it, if you dont plan on going to germany ever again dont pay it
Hmmm..
I don`t normally say this to anyone but i wouldn`t pay it. You live here so they can`t do much because even if they told DVLA its a different country so they won`t be able to do much. You pay your taxes in this country so allow germany when everyone else gets the benefits.
scam? you have already decided not to pay
