The strange thing it that most of the calls received are of a negative nature with people complaining, so the award is usually paid to the driver with the least number of complaints.

It's there so you can report that person if they're driving unsafe or not following the rules. The company they work for puts that on there so they can find out if they're employee is doing something wrong.
Some of them make money by you calling them, if the number is 0845 or 0870.

So whilst you are driving you pick up your phone to report the crap driving of the guy in front and crash. Its ironic!

So if the van is being driven dangerously you can phone that number and report the driver. I don't know of anyone who has called one of these numbers so I don't know what response you get - f**k off probably!

I used the number once to tell them that one of the Tesco articulated lorries had some bits hanging loose at the back that should really have been attached. For the rest his driving was ok though. It was a total waste of time. Never again!
I think this is highly dangerous. You might get someone ringing the number on their mobile phone, and say you are driving the van and your mobile phone rings. It would not be very safe, you would have to pull over at the nearest lay by.
