Anyone having problems with SEAT ALTEA handbrake failure?

I bought a brand new Seat Altea 1.9 tdi Reference Sport on the 30th July, on the 24th August my handbrake failed while stationery and caused extensive damage to one of my doors. Seat are taking no responsibility for this and said my handbrake is 25% effective. My mum had a similar problem with exact car over a year ago where the car rolled off ramps after braking failed again.

Answers:
its the first i have heard of that and i suggest the company get it sorted asap thank god you are ok
if on a step hill it should of been left in gear if manual or park if automatic and with the handbrake on it should be 100% fine if they tell you it only 25 % tell them they got a junk car sadly your not in the usa as legal action could of occurred here
