I have a Suzuki XL-7 AT. What exactly are the overdrive as well as the power buttons for?

I bought this car from a friend.

Answers:
Overdrive reduces the engine revs when cruising and the power button leaves in the car in gear for longer
Used to have overdrive in a previous car.you have power buttons too? Lucky you. Much the same thing but where you would leave the car in power mode, Overdrive is excellent for switching on to overtake another car
I agree with answers as above
I am a little concerned about syelark's answer. The overdrive reduces the engine revs when cruising, the last thing you want when overtaking is a drop in engine revs. If you have overdrive switched on and you wish to overtake it would make more sense to switch it off as part of the preparations to overtake, this gives you a slightly lower gearing and therefore faster acceleration.
