Any idea why my VW Polo is stalling on me?
Answers:
you say this happens when the car is warm, there could be a few things there to check, simplest is ti check the routing of the fuel pipe, is i near a hot spot ? this can casue the fuel in the line to evaporate, also the fuel pressure regulator has a diaphragm this can split too, if you have want to check have a fuel pressure test done and a leak back test as well, it seems to me to be a fuel problem as if it was mechanical or ignition it would tend to to it across a greater operating range, also check fuel filter ? has i been serrviced latley ? hope this helps
its one of too things
1. on the viechle it will have a coolant temp sensor if this is faulty then the car wont idle when is cold probably about £15
2. it could be one of the components on the throttle body but the easyest thing to do is go to the scrappy and get a complete unit probably about £35
hope this helps
I agree with paul, could also be the CDI box, as the cars get older these begin to fail. New one is mega expensive scrappy is cheapest option. This is a little black electronic box about the size of a cigarette box usually bolted to the wing in the engine bay. Undo the plugs unbolt it put new one on and put plugs back in (not the spark plugs the plugs connected to the box)
Carburetter malfunction, a decent carb centre will charge around fifty/sixty quid and fit a service kit gaskets metering rod etc and it will be good as new but a ordinary garage will charge a lot more
