Why is it that a high percentage of bus and taxi drivers are so rude (no offence to the nice ones)?

Answers:
Well, bus drivers have to fail the intelligence test, of course, whereas taxi drivers don't even have to speak the language.

You forgot the psychopaths who drive lorries 3 feet from your back window, at 60mph on a motorway.
theyre ok with me
Think of all the annoying people that they must have to put up with all day!
You know how when you go to the airport you deal with a lot of rude travellers and everyone is stressed out? Cab drivers and bus drivers deal with that every hour of the day. We only have to be around it every so often.
A better question might be:

why is it that a high percentage of bus and taxi users are so rude?
I would imagine because the job sucks and they have to deal with pricks all day.
I guess it depends on the people they have to put up with. Ive had some pleasant conversations with taxi drivers. Ive spilled my heart when i was drunk!.one even said i didnt have to pay as it was my birthday and one even made sure i got in through my door safely!.. they are not all bad!
They get paid whether they are nice or not. Taxi drivers are like indentured servants. They rent or lease the car, then have no control over how much work they get to do. So they spend long hours to get 3 or 4 good fares to pay for the car. Not much left over and the friendly attitude goes away early.
This maybe because a large percentage of their customer are equally rude, or maybe they are just that way.
Because they can be.
This is thought of worldwide. Some people do a job they are not in favor of; i.e. they do it because they didn't get one that they think better. So they do not care the ethics of that job and the etiquette. As well, they deal every moment with different people, most of them not thinking positively of drivers. Stress of the job also plays a big role in making them frustrated, furious, stressed.
It is amazing why people get so monstrous on the roads
Will you be nice & smiling, if your company is earning big bucks but pays you peanuts (not that kind of "famous"peanuts)
well i think that this should have something to do with their millieu for some and their mentality for others. The days mood could also be a cause . Some are very tired from their long tiring trip and usually their nerves are very open. So they are open to releasing anything that comes from their stomach. Ahaha now the stomach, you know the say a hungry man is an angry man .Others still is their millieu where they grow up and in what atmosphere . It influences alot . thanks bye for now. Hope this will help .Please before i forget ,you know that when dealing with many people you meet with many different culutures and moods and as you should know understanding is not always the call of the day. Then comes the last , you know this are people who do not have to beg to be booked they you need them as so then to become proud and so when cofronted with some one who somewhat is challenging him he grows mad.
Maybe they are tired of dealing with rude people. Anymore with taxi drivers there is a language barrier. I find bus driver friendly, they do have a job to do though and need to concentrate on the road more than idle chit chat. I drove cab and tried to be friendly. Sometimes when the bar closed and you picked up the drunks that was trying. I had them trying to use the 2-way radio and everythiing, not to mention those who got sick in the cab and then of course you don't get a tiip for cleaning it up. Then you have to wonder when you will get the one that wants to rob you of the few dollars that you do have. As long as you got the little old ladies wanting to go to church on Sunday your day was pretty good, not much for tips, but safe.
This question is crypto-racist. A high percentage of bus and taxi drivers are from ethnic minorities.
not true where I live
They think they own the road. Just cause they spend more time driving about i think they get a little bit of an inferiority complex that they are better at driving then the rest of us which give them the right to pull out on us.
Because the passengers are
well ,this is a global issue, there are many reasons for this type of behavour ,crowded city steets,pedestrians,bicycles.mo. ,cars ,trucks and of course city buses and taxis, you will find the more the population of people and vehicles in the city the lower the stress tolerance is very noticable which really means bus drivers and taxi drivers in over populated cities are very stressed through out the day ,they have a time schedule to meet and often as not other people on the congested steets dont care about this.dont recognise this because they are not in the driver seat of the bus or taxi this is how they make their living and they too have a boss in which they answer to and have to make thier schedules in order for the public to use thier services which in turn pays the bills. please try to understand this by putting yourself in thier position knowing what you have just read ,I know I could not do thier job and be friendly all the time and if this happens again look at them in the eye and smile from ear to ear thanking yourself you dont have thier job. because its a nerve wracking bussiness and above all thier human too.and remember a spoon full of sugar goes a lot further than a dozen lemons. keep smiling
Because most people that they have to deal with are a ss hol es that ask dumb question and want a ride for nuthin
Just think of some of the passengers they get
