Tappets on my Lreg 1.1 fiesta what order do I ajust ?
Answers:
Try using "the rule of nine" I take it the engine has 8 valves; if so number them 1 to 8 from the front of the car to rear of engine. When valve 1 is fully depressed, adjust number 8, when 2 is depressed fully, adjust number 7. Ensure that the total of the valve down and the valve adjusted equals nine and this should be OK. It worked on all the 4 cylinder Fords I owned. BUT I take no responsibility for this advice as I have never owned the same model as you have there.
You should have bought a Fiat

I hope this helps.
Pointless doing them really - all ford engines are REALLY 'tappety'.and even when adjusted go out again in 6 months. live with the 'trademark' rattle.
you are better off looking at a haynes manual for the answer to that question
The rule of 5, get number one cylinder 'on the rock' (between the exhaust valve closing and the inlet valve opening) and adjust number four (adds up to five). then 2 and 3, then 3 and 2, then 4 and 1.
Cylinder order is 3,1,4,2 from left to right. But it won't just be the tappits, it will also need a new cam-shaft now as the tappits will have worn a skin into the push-rods. It will be just as bad 3 weeks after otherwise.
