ALTERNATOR you might like to say where in scotland you are!! anyway all alternators are second hand unless you buy a new car, or if you insist on it being new it'll cost you round about £400 (even then you won't know it's not new) without knowing where you are,i can only suggest exchange&mart.
phone around your locar garages, most will do you a recon unit as long as you give them your old one. or as someone said try the scrap yard.
