How much for a tyre, how much for a puncture repair?

I have a puncture (a nail embedded) in a tyre. How much should I pay for:

1. a repair to the tyre

2. a replacement tyre

The tyre is a 195/50 VR 15 to fit a Ford Puma. Is it likely I'd have to have the tyre replaced rather than fixed?

Answers:
I wouldn't bother with a repair to the tyre. Better safe than sorry. For your car your should be looking at about £45 for a new one, or about £20 for a part worn. But check around and get a few quotes, the likes of Kwik Fit are NOT the cheapest, spend time, look around and get yourself a bargain. Good Luck
First, you need to know how to spell TIRE.
Even a blonde knows that!
Ok.. where is it leaking from? If from the sidewall, I highly recommend replacing the tire. as the tire flexes with a patch it will not adhere correctly. if the hole is on the flat side of the tire, then just patch it. cost should be like $15 for a patch. price of 1 tire is up to the brand and where you go to have it mounted and balanced.
well to fix it will cost about 7-15 dollars and a new tire will be anywhere from 20-150 dollars.check around.
around here a tire repair is about 5 bucks ( and they take their sweet time 'cos it is so cheap). a tire is anywhere from 15 to 50..
I have had them repaired and they lasted years.
repair is about $10 or free sometimes depending on where you purchased it. replacing the tire is about $75-120.

and to the girls above, tire can be spelled with either and i or an y, depending on where you live. but both are correct. so looks like you're the ignorant one. lol
1. Home Tire repair kit. About 5 bucks.

2. To have it fixed, probably about 25 bucks (but then you have someone you can go back to if there are problems)

3. New Tire depends on the brand of tire.
Also depending on the age of the tires you may want to buy two one for each side. Also if the tire is new enough and needs replaced. Where ever you got the car or tires from previously may give you a break on the new tire if they are less then some specified age depending on the wear.

More than likely it can be fixed unless the nail is in the sidewall. As long as it's in the tread it should be ok to fix.

Oh one other option. Pull nail and fill with Fix a Flat. Emergency repair. Fills hole with Latex and coats the inside of the tire. Probably the easiest fix and I've done that sometimes and never had to do anything else until the tire was replaced for good years later. Fix a Flat is probably about 5 to 8 bucks a can.
well were i am from a repair cost me 6 euro for my car wheel but then it depends on the size of the wheel and to replace my tyre it costs me 60 euro but my car is only a citroen saxo so i dont no about your car
Get part worn and salvaged tyres
