How do u know what catergory your car is?

hey sorry to bother you but how does one know what catergory their car is?

Answers:
"iwingameover" has a good suggestion, but don't be surprised of you see some crossover with some cars appearing in one category in a site, and another in an alternate site.

As far as the feds are concerned, they have categories based on weight, type of fuel, and a few other categories. Your individual state may have others, such as how many axles, how much load on each axle, SUVs built on truck frames, SUVs built on car frames, Light duty pickups, heavy duty pickups, # of passengers, # of doors, etc.

The different shopping and comparison sites may have even more categories, weight limits, weight capacities, cost, body styles, sports cars, family cars, etc.

Plus the traditional coupe, sedan, convertable, etc.

I dont worry much about my car. I call her Betsy.
what the H E double hockey sticks are you talking about?
look on your registration
Look on your insurance certificate or the papers tht come with it.
What kind of car is it? Look on a auto site like yahoo autos and find out what group they put it in. Then you'll know.
Not sure what you mean by what category? Do you mean is it a sports, family, SUV or do you mean what CO2/tax band or something completely different?

I suggest you go to your dealership and ask them for all the details. Normally though the information should be in the owners manual, along with such useful things as what fuel type, tyre pressures and servicing intervals.
I would go to Kelly Blue Book, or kbb.com. then, just follow the steps to find your car.
most cars are categorised as PLG (private light goods)
What do you mean by category?

Do you mean UK car tax category, or something similar from another country?

Or do you mean motor-industry segment?
If so, what part of the world are you in, as segmentation varies?
not to sure if your talking about insurance or tax.. if it's the tax your on about all that will mater for your age of car is if it's petrol or diesel. If it's for insurance lots of motoring mags have this kind of information in them.
