What s the best way to?
Answers:
Sorry , i dont have and quick DIY ideas but I had the same problem, some nasty peron put a scratch down by the side of my baby so i had a Permagard treatment on the bodywork of my car, the scratch has virtually dissapeared and my car looks brand new. Google Permagard and you will see what i mean.
Good luck.
Get to a car shop, you can buy stuff to sort it out
you can find scratch removing polishes/compounds at your local auto parts stores. just be careful, and if you're doing it by hand, it's gonna take a LOT of elbow grease
The next time you fill up, take a piece of cloth or napkin, and douse the gas on it. Then rub it on the designated area. And there you have it.
Try getting some rubbing compound and buff it out
1 you go down to Halfords
2 You buy t cut metallic colour restorer make sure it says metallic this is the most important part of the instruction so I shall repeat it make sure the container says mettalic colour restorer
3 put some of the gunk on a soft cloth and polish over the scratch in a circular motion keep [polishing until the scratch disappears
4 get some ordinary car wax apply to worked area and buff up
If its not through to the primer you could buff it out with the right buffing compound but if it is you are going to have to paint it. A spot paint job is just that and you will always notice it the paint has to be blended so usualy for a scratch on a door the whole door has to be painted. LOL
that should be easy check at any auto zone or some where like that and they should be able to tell you what you need to do with a quickness and you must be thankful that you have not starch marks
If its a new car I wouldnt suggest any do-it-yourself techniques, take it to a bodyshop and get it done right
watch the televisoin shopping channels. They set the bonnet on fire then use a polish like chemical to restore the finish to new condition.
