Jaguar xjr 4 litre supercharged 1996 model, the power steering goes very heavy when parking ok rest of time .?

It's a little complicated to explain but not expensive to repair. Basically your power steering compesates for low speed maneuvers by pumping at a higher pressure so that the steering is lighter, and vice versa, it will be heavier at higher speeds. A common fault is a broken wire (speed sensor). The power steering pumps are pretty robust and do not fail very often, so I would check for loose wiring first. If you are told you need a new pump, get a second opinion. Good luck
check the belts make sure they are not slipping
You should really try checking that the parking space is empty before you wheel the Jaguar in. I find this helps a lot.
