BMW Mini Cooper. inside track from owners?

Can you offer your advice for your experience of owning a Mini Cooper BMW ?

Answers:
OK, based on your ID, you like VW handling -- I used to drive a GTI, so I had pretty high standards for a fast, good handling car. This thing has serious torque. Granted, I selected the S and refuse to do automatic, but even so, the power of the Cooper shocks me at times when I put my foot down a little too sternly on the gas pedal. I squeal. Not that the sound isn't great -- I just didn't know I had it in me to squelch the tires like that. The car is a joy to drive and I adore the Mini culture. (These Beemer folks don't get it.) Mini drivers are secure enough to know they car is downright tiny and slightly odd looking, yet also obstinate enough to say "That's OK, because I love this car." As far as the experience, I've loved everything about it -- I got stripes put on, drive with the top down constantly, and am now tinkering with the idea of rallies. Once I got used to premium gas (sticker shock) and adjusted my speed down (stripes have a tendency of attrating poice radar guns), it was smooth sailing. The ultimate in stress relief --
You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!
My boss can barely afford to insure hers, and can't sell it because no-one else can afford to insure it either
They're fine if you want to look like you're trying too hard!

I hope this helps.
I am on my third MINI. They look great, they handle very well, and are well built. What more do you want to know.
Fun little buggers..because of the short wheel base and boxy chassis the handling is phenomenal. I would get the cooper S though better package. To make it really fun just spend 1000 on headers, exhaust, and intake. But you have to do nothing to the suspension at all and you will have a track ready car.
Best driving experience you'll ever have if your'e a big precision driver.
My wife has a Mini Coopers S & they are fantastic!
