My car has a whining noise comming from the front axle what could it be?

Answers:
wheel bearings are the most likly answer but could be a windnoise or your brakes binding, best bet is to let a mechanic take a look at it. it would be hard to diagnose without hearing the sound
Could you have run over a cat?
I think i heard your car, on my way to work this morning
wheel bearings
If you have front wheel drive or 4x4 it could be coming from the differential.
