Converting vehicles.?
Answers:
New body shell (the panel that separates the cabin from the engine bay is usually different, and is not designed to be easily changed).
New headlamps.
New dashboard mouldings
New pedal box
Possibly new brake pipes (the servo may be moved to the driver's side)
New interior/dashboard wiring
Possibly new rear lamps and/or wiring (if there's only one fog lamp, as that must be on the driver's side)
Possibly new door trims, or door trim switches.
New door mirrors (they are designed to be seen from only one seat).
Possibly new wipers & mechanism.
New steering rack - possibly new column too.
New/re-routed clutch cable or hydraulics
New/re-routed throttle cable (unless drive by wire with potentiometer fitted to pedal box, in which case you'll need new wiring for that).
Re-routed brake-light wiring (switch is on the pedal box).
Much easier on some cars than others, but generally not advisable - likely to reduce the value of the car rather than enhance it, and cost a lot of money (thousands of pounds).
Also likely to be difficult/expensive to ensure a converted car.
dont even try, take it to a garage, you need loads o tools and the right allignment equipment that they dont do at halfords. theres no haynes manual on it either
crikey,firstly you ll need new headlamps if your importing them, to suit UK beam direction for mot and use on UK roads.
new bulkhead panel to accept rhd column and pedal box which will require cutting out and new one welding in,
new steering rack and steering column.
maybe new pedal box.
right hand drive dashboard and dials (mph)
you may encounter a few more issues too.
Crap! If your car is newer than a 1965 model, FORGET IT! You will save money buying a used postal truck at auction.
