Fuel gauge?

I have a 1.4 Peugot. What I want to know is, is when the fuel light comes on, how many miles will the reserve tank get me?

Answers:
Hi there,
Manufacturers normally like putting a reserve of approx. 30 miles in their fuel figures, enough to get you to a filing station. Fuel tank warning lights are not tremendously accurate and therefore its always best to tank up when you can. More accurate figures should be in your vehicle handbook. Cheers.
normally 50 miles
maybe 15-20 or so.depends on what you got in it and how hard you pushing it or so.
i highly doubt your car actually has two tanks.

Most lights come on 1/8th tank. most cars have a 300 - 350 mile cruising range, while luxury cars and most SUVs have a 400 - 450 mile range.

(This works because tank size is related to engine size)

Assuming light car: 300 / 8 = 37 miles.

But why not just fill it, and not have the light come on.
If you keep letting your fuel tank run low then you'll end up sucking all the crap from the bottom of the tank through the fuel pump and into the lines..eventually messing your engine up.
Keep plenty of fuel in your tank and try not to let the light come on.
if it's a diesel like mine it would be 48 miles. but dont push it
