I found the best thing is "Goo Gone". It's used mostly for sticker glue but it works wonders on bugs too. Good luck.
WD-40 works great.
I just used "Bug and Tar Remover" made by Turtle Wax to remove heavy deposits of road tar from my car. It worked well and did not seem to damage the paint finish.

Try auto Glym bug remover, it cremates em on contact
On glass try 'Mixra' (Holts I think), bodywork that has Supaguard should be easy - wet the car down and go over the critters with a wet sponge. Use a bit of soap (turtle wax / Autoglym stuff) if they are particularly stubborn.
