What is the best way 2 diagnose on my car? Will i be told whats wrong when i main dealer service it?
Answers:
A diagnostic check wont find whats wrong if its suspension as the diagnostic test deals with the engines computors and its "brain" A service will only deal with the fundamentals, like oil plugs fluids etc and to send it in to a main dealer for them to diagnose can be costly.Take it to a VW specialist if you can find one in your area and tell them the problems you are having and then they should be able to help further. Its probably something simple as the car isnt that old nor done loads of miles. If in doubt, get a second or even a third opinion to put your mind at ease if you think you might be getting ripped off
a big dealer probably wont tell you what is wrong with it,,they like to be that way,,i own a repair shop,,and i always tell my customers what i find wrong with one,,but the bigger dealers don't like doing that,,i do it out of honesty ,,because i cant afford to loose customers,,i like gaining them,,and the bigger dealers really don't care if you know or not,,is ask them strait out what they was doing ,,and what it needed,,you have the right to know,,its your car,,and your money,,ask questions,,learn more,,it works for me,,good luck with it,,i hope this help,s.
If you pay them for diagnosis, They have to tell you what they found to be wrong. You must however have the balls to make them give you a written list of what parts are worn or broken and what service must be done to properly repair your vehicle.
But, beware, what if they were wrong.
Just what kind of suspension problems are you having anyways.
check all ball type joints for grease if not lubricated on a regular basis . also all volks need to be adusted every 3000 miles on engine
go to your main dealer and ask for a diagnostic test they will tell you every thing that is wrong with your car then it is up to you to get it fixed where ever you want to
What is the Problem?
The Mk 4 is fat and flabby and overpowered with the V5 so dont expect it to handle like a Mk1.
Best bet take it to a VW specialist, not a main dealer, outside the
M25 where they have roads they can test it on and ask them to diagnose the problem, cost you an hour minimum say £40.
It could be alignment or wear or non standard tyres and wrong wheel offsets can really bugger things up , or even standard size but crap tyres can let it down and lets face it a MK 4 aint no Lotus is it.
