I just replaced the brushes in my 12v dynamo on a pos earth. When I rev the ignition light goes brighter why?



Answers:
Regulator is bad.
You need to replace the regulator. when you rev the engine the generator pumps out more voltage than the battery is holding (usually 13.3-13.8v) .. your lights work on 12-13v if you give them 14-15v they get brighter. the reg normally shuts the gate at 13.8v so battery cannot be boiled.
