Given that you bought a Rover, they'd have loved your Corsa in p/x (they must have seen you coming babe!!)
You got £400. You lucky, lucky thing you! (You'll have wished you'd stuck with the Corsa.)

That all depends on how much they hiked up the price of the Rover before you came along.
your Corsa has a trade value of about eighty quid, so you can measure the amount of profit the dealer made by how much more than that he gave you. Add to that the fact that Rover is finished and that the dealer would probably do ANY deal to shift this piece of junk to some Mug and you will realise that you have just admitted your ignorance of the Motor trade to the whole of Yahoo!
The real test is to find out how much a dealer will give you for the Rover against a popular model. Try phoning a few dealers and ask them for a ball park figure for the Rover BEFORE you buy it.
I'm surprised you got anything for it at all. They would only have got scrap value for it. I got £1000 part ex on my n reg Clio 2 years ago when I bought a 51 reg rover 25. The Clio only had 45 miles on the clock. I only paid £2000 for my rover, how much was yours?
PS, I don't think I'm a mug, the parts for Rover are still going to be made for another 4 years & I will have a new car by then & will be able to scrap the Rover if I can't sell it to someone who is looking for a cheap first car.
if u only got £10 ur crazy to av let it go, there are garages that will give a min of £1000 on part exchange and the car u gone up to is only worth approx £2500, my mother-in-law is selling her 2002 rover for £1800 and its in excellent condition, if i didn't own a 06 zafira i'd av bought hers

it all depends on how desperate the dealer is to get rid of the car he is trying to sell you, and how much profit margin he has to work with. it could be anything from £0 to £1500!
