Do airline pilots?

You know when you're going down the road in Arkansas and you pass another vehicle. They always wave or nod.
I'm curious to know if airline pilots do the same thing when they pass each other at 30,000 ft.

Answers:
oh yeah

all the time.
no they have both hands on the stewardess head that is in their lap
Probably not, wouldn't that mean they were flying to close?
Airline pilots nor so much since they have to keep minimum distances. Other pilots certainly do, from wing tipping to wave to mooning at each other.
Of course they do - otherwise it would be a very lonely existence - and they are also on nodding terms with many of the birds too! My friend who is a pilot told me that when they hit one during take off they always say a little prayer for it! Very emotional!
we are too busy sleeping to wave.
Only if their name is Tim.
As a pilot you often see other aircraft but you are seldom close enough to see the persons inside. When I am in a smaller aircraft flying by myself if I hear someone I know on the radio I might give them a wing wag if I see them but when flying an airliner your not allowed to do that it would make everyone in the back sick
If your close enough to wave, someone has fucked up pretty bad ..or you better be a team member of the Snowbirds..!!
well if you're that close there's a serious problem i.e. you'll all crash and die a horrible flaming death. plus you're kinda going at like 500 mph so by the time you start to wave you'll be a long way apart. so i'm thinking that answer would be a no.
well very probably not. The aircraft seperation minima is only 1000ft but a 737 for example has an average ground speed of approx 500+ miles per hour (0.79 mach). Thats a combined speed of 1000+ miles per hour. By the time you see him lift his hand and wave, if you even see that, and you do the same you will already be a good half mile apart heading in the opposite direction. Small aircraft and things like formation flyers would be able too though.
