Has anyone here been on that vrgin airlines space trip that costs £150 000?
Answers:
I went, it was OK I guess, lots of turbulence, I got a little sick on the re-entry though. I spilled my drink all over my space helmet face shield, they didn't show me how to open it until after the second rocket booster jettisoned. My cell worked fine but I got charged extra for some text messages I sent because I was out of my calling area, (I'm still disputing those fees with Verizon). Some of the monitors on board were malfunctioning due to the time/space continuum we passed through about two hours into the mission. Which reminds me, if you go, I would recommend getting one of those Bose sound canceling headsets during the actual launch phase of the trip, the little foam earplugs they give you are a little below industry standard. Overall I had a great time, the food was a little dry, but after I was briefed on the re-hydration process it turned out nice. -travel hint- Try to use the restroom before you depart, you don't know who was using the urinal suction tube before you got there. Hope this helps.
How much is £150 000 in US dollars?
Ive got my name down - paid a £25000 deposit and will eventually be flown to Russia for 3 weeks training - but Branson hasn't got it fully running yet. The £25000 was primarily for getting it off the ground - it may not take off and then ill lose my money - but it's certainly worth it!
Virgin Galactic isn't up and running yet. Branson and his family are to be the first to go and that isn't expected until 2008.
The ticket price has been set at US$200,000 and the minimum, fully refundable deposit to secure your spaceship seat is US$20,000.
