How many miles could I expect from a remould tyre compared to new branded tyre?
I know remoulds had bad press in the past but I look after my car. I have had structural failures on 2 "high quality" tyres both spotted on routine checks, both tyres returned to manufacturers and proven to be faulty!!
Tyre size 205/55R16 V rated what I use

25,000 for retread versus 40,000 for new one.
The big problem with retreads is that when they go they usually damage your car.
I don't know about performance tires, but I do know that a lot of trucking companies around here try to get away with re-treads..and to devastating effects. They are prone to failing on the highway, especially in summer. In a 1/2 hour drive you can usually spot 3 or 4 blown re-treads laying in the middle of the road and we live in a rural area with little highway traffic. I guess they figure that they can get away with it because even if they blow one, they still have 3 more on the axle to keep them going. Its a bit dangerous for the motorists behind them though. I know that I would never even consider putting re-treads on my car based on what I've seen the last few years.
