Which car should i buy?

Im going to spend around £6000 on a car. I have two youngish kids. I would like a bit of luxury as i feel old, but would also like some power and a fairly newish model of car. What should i get people?

Answers:
Check out an Alfa 156, but do not go for the Salespeed as they have some gearbox prob's, the car is a bargain due to poor reputation, but the 156 is an excellent car with little to no probs other than the auto (salespeed). For £6k you should be able to get an 03-04 plated car with all the extras, climate control, leather, CD multiplayer, cruise control, heated seats, traction control, etc. Highly underated car, and a bargain, I have seen 04 plated ones with 20-30k miles for your sort of money.

Either a Toyota or a Lexus.
I like the ford mondeo, it is quite luxurious with plenty of room

A nice second hand BMW 318i Tourer
avoid Fords and anything italian as they fall apart.
Ford Galaxy. They are really nice car´s and very easy to park. My wife loved it back in the UK and was gutted when we got rid.
Mercedes A class for 6 grand you should be be able to find a decent late model.
try looking around for a KIA dealership and ask about the Cerato. Its stacked with extras, is very comfortable to drive, can go when you need it to and cost only £10K when new so you could get a 05 plate.
bmw 3 series. shoud get a nice 2002 318i for that money. 4 doors, nice luxury level, excellent safety and amazing reliability and resale values. bombproof, you cant go wrong. and it has street cred, looks good on the drive! just dont buy silver, not the best colour.
if you know your way around public car auctions, or have a friend that does, whatever type car/model you have set your mind on buying it will be a lot cheaper than car supermarkets ,or dynamic daves dodgem autosales ,look up private sellers for bargains in local papers/car mags. a good tip is: lots of impressive buttons /sliding this /electric that, unless really needed ,is just more to go wrong, and expensive to repair later on.good luck
You could buy a Mitsubishi Lancer 1.6 the 2003 model.
