I know that Jeep means Jolly Expensive Electrical Parts?
Answers:
It's the same reason Rover parts cost so much in in the U.S.
Just Empty Every Pocket is what I've always called them. Why can't you buy the part from the US?
I have heard that Jeeps do NOT hold up well. I met a guy once who had purchased one brand new. A week later he had to take it in for starter problems. A month or so later the transmission wouldn't come out of reverse. Fed up, he "MADE" them give him another one, deciding he had "just" gotten hold of a lemon.
Four months later he took THAT ONE back because the electrical system was acting weird. With #3 he thought he would be O.K.
Well, he now drives a Toyota Tundra Pickup. The 3rd Jeep started acting up like the first one, the starter!! Then the cd player ate a cd & since it was factory installed & about a month old he took it in to have it replaced. The dealership wanted to CHARGE him almost $800 for a NEW ONE!!
Needless to say.. NO MORE JEEPS FOR HIM!!
Because of the import taxes levied by our wonderful government
Damn that's a lot. I know what you mean, mine's in the shop every month almost, but it is 18 years old. Buy parts on the internet
Well I can't help that some people have had bad experiences with jeep but the fact of the matter is that JEEPS are rugged built and they are abused and keep running. When you tear it up it takes a while to do it. But you have to pay for Quality.
Go to E-Bay and see what you find!
nah!!, its actually an abreviation of g.p. originally general purpose, but you could say grotesque prices
Actually, everything online is nearly double. I have filtered out other countries electronically when searching for parts. EVERYTHING is nearly twice the cost if it comes from the UK. Sometimes even Canada is way off base. I am lucky to be in the U>S> and shop within my country online. Sorry bout your luck.
