Servicing a subaru?

i want to buy an impreza, but have been told that it is not possible to service these cars at home as special tools are neede, is this true and can i buy the tools from somewhere

Answers:
A lot of cars proclaim to need special tools. That is not always true. You can find substitute tools that will work just fine. If you have any talents you can fabricate the tools yourself. I've never bought a special tool. I've always made my own, and the rest I rent form Auto zone for free.

Good Luck
no worse than any other cars. actually, subaru's are pretty easy to work on. pretty much all nuts and bolts. good cars, too.
Don't let the doom sayers scare you away. Scoobies are great cars and not any tougher than other modern day cars to work on.
