Can i use cooking oil in my 1993 transit if so how dose it have to be used?
Answers:
No problem with using it providing you pay the taxes involved, and it will wreck your pump and injectors as there are no lubricating waxes in it.
It's illegal.
The common theory behind why the government made it illegal, is because of taxation. They would lose a lot of revenue.
?
Carefully!!
The Centre for Alternative Technology used to have a bookshop, you used to be able to get leaflets that told you how to do stuff like this.
The second link is a google search and there are loads of sites that have recipes.
As far as I know you pay tax on purchased bio diesel, I know there are peopl ewho run vehicles on the stuff so it must be legal and possible, you might want to look into that.
Physically speaking you can, but I believe you have to start AND end with real diesel. It's illegal though through the tax situation, but if you really want to try it, buy some old chip oil from your local chippy and filter it well first.
Are u crazy, u could damage your engine..
Type biodiesel in your search bar. Its not a case of puting in cooking oil, it has to be rendered. My advice is don't bother. Even if you manage to make the stuff, its illegal unless you declare it and pay duty on it.
There are cars that run on used cooking oil after adjustments to the engine.(starting with a diesel of course) The oil after being collected from the restaurants is filtered.
its not worth you will bugger up your engine and its against the law if you avoid the taxation
people do use them but you have to modify the engine first.. check with experts.
First you must have a diesel It will not work on gas cars. I saw a program on discovery chanel about it. The guy said it cost him .50 cents per gallon to refine it. I have never heard it is a crime to do this. Check your local laws to be sure. Go to Google-------cooking oil to diesel.
Apparently (in the UK, anyway) it is legal provided you regularly submit details to the relevant authorities regarding your mileage and oil usage, so that they can charge you the appropriate taxes .
no-- definitely!. that's why we don't encourage our customers whenever they ask us that. the design we have for it does not include cooking oil. it was however tested with used cooking oil (16K 1st C grade) for extremes measures in case an owner encountered one. it worked but eventually wore down after 43 hrs of rigorous running. bad idea, right?
Dilute your regular fuel with a little and see what happens. Gradually increase the strength over time until it runs rough or causes another problem then back off a little
