Beautiful - in an ugly duckling sort of way.
But whoever drives it clearly has an ugly job.
Its not a hot sell.
ok but take a look at the new jag xk8 before making your mind up the bmw is an ugly thing high boot line the jag is more comfy and a lot prettier

You can check Intellichoice to see if the 6 series will hold it's value or not. It's a great car assuming you want a big, heavy sports car that doesn't get very good gas mileage.
I prefer the coupe myself. I am not really into the convertibles.
