How reliable are Seat Ibiza's in general? Or specifically 2001 with 1.4 engine?

very reliable , a vw really , same engine etc , good car
not bad since they got taken over by the vw/audi group. build quality is dodgy tho & depends on the former owner really. nice little runaround car. even if it breaks the parts are cheap & plentifull & service bills are similar as well
basicaly the car is a vw tish a seat badge slapped on it
so the cars are very good as a rule
but parts can get a little expensive
Ibiza's main issues are missfire's brought on by faulty coil packs.
Make sure the engine runs smooth on idle and no warning lights are illuminated on the dashboard. It could run into hundreds of pounds if the catalytic convertor has been damaged as a result of a missfire..!
