What is the differents between semi synthetic or synthetic engine oil and what can it do to your vehicle?
Answers:
Long story short it is man made material that have names as long as your arm as opposed to minerals.
Just think this way. If you graduate from a University, your have a degree. Well not all universities are equal. Oil is just like it. Expensive doesnt mean it will last longer. Only, when you go for your scheduled oil change, the synthetic one is still half decent (not broken down into a watery oil). If you put a cheap one, it started out on a lower level so when it deteriorates, it goes down lower. Now I could tell you more but it would get really scientific.
One thing you dont want to do is mix or alternate usage. Stick to one and use either type for the duration you own the car. This is because you can cause serious damage on your gasket and you'll have an oil leak.
Semi synthetic oil is a mix blend between normal oil & synthetic. Full out synthetic oil is completly man made. It is said to have a better resistence to brake down. That means it should last longer than conventional oil. Hope this helps.
A semi synthetic (blend) is not 50/50.. more like 20 percent most of the time. It has barely no benefits. Just costs more. Synthetics are well (except castrol, its a hydrocracked petroleum) are man made. all uniform molecules, free of any impurities. flows alot better then its conventional counter part in the cold (gets up to where it needs to be, so less engine wear) and stands up to higher heat, much longer.. your piston rings experience some of the hottest heat. over 400 degrees or more.
