What's the best family car to replace a Scenic? We all like the Scenic but don't want to buy the same again.

The 1.6 Scenic we have is a bit underpowered. My wife likes the high driving position and it has to be an automatic.

Id go with a toyota camry. very reliable.. enough power to make both of you happy.. comes in 4 door.. and is 5 star safety rated.. and doesent look bad if you ask me
sounds like a trailer wud do and then u can keep the civic problem solved
go and get a twin cab pick up like a nissan patrol
try the Picasso 1.8
ford galaxy is a really good people carrier, really nice to drive and good grunt to them. well worth taking a test drive to find out for yourself.

My friend bought one of the new Zafira,s and it really is an excellent car.Take one for a test drive,im sure you will like it !
the scenic is a good mix of price and usefulness, the Picasso comes close but is now obsolete, the Zafira comes close but is more expensive. thought of the diesel scenic? more power and better economy, and you would get a better price for your old scenic
Honda Stream, Toyota Corolla Verso T3, if money no problem then the new Ford S-max, Nissan Almera Tino, Vauxhall Zafira, Toyota Previa.
A good place to look is on Yahoo! Cars. Here's a story about 5 of the best used MPV's for under £10K (Don't know if you want new or used):
http://uk.cars.yahoo.com/30012006/49/fiv.

Or try their car search. This will show you for example, all MPV's allowing you to narrow down your search from there based on price, options, or whatever you wish really.

Good luck!
We had a scenic on motability a years ago and like you wanted something similar. We went for the vauxhall zafira, 1.6 manual. If we could choose again we would definatly get the 1.8 or 2.0 as the 1.6 struggles a bit if you have a load of 7 people. I think it is very versatile and has a good road positioning. Both my mother and my partner are disabled and niether of them have a problem getting in and out of it. I know they do do them in automatic.
Fiat Multipla without question, good engine, good auto and front seats 3 (bench) great for shagging in too.
I would have a look on the euro ncap website first and check the safety rating, a colleague of mine has a Kia Sedona and they have a terrible rating of two stars.
If you search under euro n cap rating on google.
