Most electricity in the UK is produced by nuclear/coal/gas powerplants. I'm not aware of any hydro plants so I wouldn't imagine it'd be powered by that!

The London Underground runs entirely on electricity. They used to have their own power station to provide this up to about 20 years ago, but now get it from the National Grid as do other railway systems in the UK.
