Answers:
Biodiesel is totally legal in the UK as long as the tax has been paid on it. If you do get pulled which is unlikely as tests on vehicle fuel only normally occur on large commercial vehicles like trucks, if you have paperwork to show you make your own and pay tax on it there will not be a problem.
As for methods of making the stuff, the internet is full of useful websites to show you how it can be done. The method is called 'transesterification', whereby chemicals are added to new or used vegetable oil stock to remove the fatty acids etc from it so it can be used in your engine. We are in the process of writing some articles on the subject but in the meantime, here are some really useful links ;

you have to notify the customs dept and pay tax, it works out at about 40/50 pence per litre
Yes, its legal.
But like all diesels, it will kill asthmatics with its PM10s. Its still carcenogenic too.
It's only legal if you declare all of it to the government so that they can tax it, then it's about the same price as normal stuff.
try www.tdiclub.com. That's the message boards for all the biodiesel junkies like me.
Love my 2005 VW Passat TDI
If you do decide to use it then the car you are using may need to be modified. Bio-Fuels have a nasty habit of clogging up various filters etc in the engine. Blocked filters etc means that the car will not run efficiently / at all after a few runs.
yes it is there is some garages in kent selling it
