Do you think 70mph is too slow for motorways?

wel do you

Answers:
In my opinion, I think that you should just drive at a pace that you're comfortable with. No point in keeping up with the rest and not feeling comfortable about it right. Might as well enjoy the drive in your own comfort zone.
Considering that passive and active car safety features have improved a lot, yes.
Considering that I worked at a drive-through food place and have seen large numbers of cars come through with open containers, no.
no, enough people die on motorways already, without putting the speed up higher.
Its still can kill somebody.

I think its average
er, yes. But if speed limits are raised, lane discipline needs to be improved greatly.
not on a honda 90 it isnt
yes, especially at night or when the motorway is not busy 70 is just far too slow
yes
it should be the same as Germany foot to the floor. they have a very low accident rate. its the plonkers who nip in front of you leaving a very small breaking distance and that causes a chain of cars breaking that's how you get so many traffic jams and pile ups on our motorways
Not if you class it as the minimum
no l would say it is a good compromise, after all the road is there for use by all levels of capability, not just a few.l suppose the question is has the driving standard risen or fallen over the last few years in the light of a more stringent test and interms of environment should we not all aim for the most fuel efficient journey..as for car safety features.they are there in cars to stop idiots being a danger to the rest of us so there is no case.
No, The amount of extremely damaged people i have seen all swearing they were not going very fast , when it has been obvious they were , defies belief
yup 70 is too slow, with the way breaks have been improved since the law was put into force, stopping distance has decreased considerably, plus why should i drive at 70 when i still get pretty good fuel consumption at 135mph. ;)
in some ways yes if its a clear nite then should be no restrictions but 9 x outa ten ur stuck in traffic and lucky to hit 40 so its swings and roundabouts i think 70mph is a nice cruising speed
