Taking my mobility scooter abroad?

Air Travel

Answers:
Provided you really "need" the scooter for mobility, the airlines are required by law to "make the necessary accomodations" for you to take the unit with you. However, in some instances you will be charged for extra baggage, be required to remove the batteries, dissassemble the unit or other requirements. It may even be sent on a different aircraft as baggage. If you have "wet cell batteries" you cannot take it on the aircraft. Your batteries, if approved, will have a sticker on them that verifies that they are approved for air transport.
