It could be the door lock mechanism broken on the lock barrel, but need more details, like is it just the drivers door, is it with the key in the drivers door or passenger door, is it only with central locking remote fob. The more detail you put down the more likely you are to come across someone who has had the same problem and may be able to give you some friendly advice.
