are there other countrys that pay more for petrol than we do, I no we have to pay for a lot of things with it, but I dont think they tell the truth- petrol is cheep taxes push the price up in rip of Britain. we just pay it

Answers:
in saudi Arabia it is only 9p a ltr, y shud we brits suffer its appalling, but its no good us all moaning about it if we don't intend doing owt about it, Maggie thatcher once said once petrol went up over 50/60p a gallon road tax wud b abolished, pity she wasn't still in mayb something wud get dun about the rising prices,
It's the tax that makes it expensive. About 65% I think
Petrol is £1 a litre, but is pricey across europe also.

we arent the most expensive, but only just.
yes we pay it , and it it due to go up again because of the alaska oil place there needing to be fixed
petrol in UK mega expensive. I went to america two years ago and filled up tank for 20 dollars. As a scot this riles me considering that we have offshore oil. Why mainland britain has such high tax on our own commodity is beyond reasonable.
mmm. somebody told me that is really cheap in Mexico too. but i don´t really know.
Petrol is cheap, the taxes are extortionate - I agree with you.
cheapest I ever saw was in Brunei - it was about 17p a litre or something crazy like that
Petrol tax makes petrol in the UK some of the most expensive in the world. What the petrol companies charge is irrelevant.
I wish.Try across the pond our American friends.I am led to believe they nearly give it away over there.
Petrol price is decided by the vendor - in the Middle East, North Sea, Texas or Russia- and is much the same the world over, although individual countries may have deals with individual providers. How much it actually costs the man in the street, on the other hand (the purchase price), is affected by the retailers - and of course by tax. I heard that petrol in this country (UK) is a similar price to milk - until you add the tax. Could that possibly be true??
hi the tax man takes at least 47p in the £1.00 in tax thats more than most of europ
Yes petrol would be amazingly cheap if it wasnt for the tax on it..
I got back from France at the weekend and was shocked by there prices - average 1.43Euros per litre (which is over a pound a litre) there diesel prices however are about half the unleaded prices.
Saving on cigarettes is getting less and less though - save about a pound a packet now.
