When was the last time gas prices were around .96-1.00 a gallon?

my dad said that in 88 or 89 the gas prices were no more then 1.15

so yeah the prices have changed big time. i hear that they will stay in the low $3

In the UK - about 20 years ago.
I can remember filling up at that price in the early 90's. When I first starting driving. and cigarettes were $1.50 per pack for the name brand smokes.
If I recall correctly, around the mid 80s.
I was in high school when it screamed from a reasonable .40 to an astronomical .65! I wish! LOL
in the UK at the moment it is about £1 a litre, so count yourselves lucky!

back in 1998 when i started driving its tripled almost quadrupeled since we can thank bush and his oil buddies
I remember paying 98 cents a gallon in 1987.
Chicago area 1989-1990 Maybe before that even. I remember when it spiked to $1.40 and I said that once it hits $1.50 I was going to stop driving. Well. I'm still driving. so much for sticking to my guns.
