I passed my test about three years ago, which means I do not have Category B+E. I just have category B, regarding the weight of the trailer that I can tow. I know that I am restricted from towing your standard sized caravans. The maximum weight that I am permitted to tow is 750kg according to the DVLA. I am looking at a Freedom Microlight, which is a very small caravan, however, I do not know how much it weighs. Can anyone tell me the eight of this particular caravan and the names of some other caravans that I am permitted to tow?
Answers:
take it to a wiegh bridge or jack up each wheel onto s large scales and combine the total wieghts.
Hi well 750 kg is not very much weight , but I would have thought that the small microlight caravan would easily be below that weight.. I would go to the manufacturer and find out what the unit weighs..
good luck
None - you need a car or a van!
Is the weight restriction net or laden. Most caravans with out all the ,modern necessity's such as air-con, central heating, and other such unnecessary items will if under 14 feet be less that three quarters of a ton. However your car must be heavier that the caravan to tow at 50.
