Series 3 land rover mpg?

I would like to get a series III land rover. Does anyone know what the fuel economy is like for the different engines?

Answers:
none of them will give great fuel economy , go for a diesel & run it on old cooking oil . or even new cooking oil , its still cheaper than pump fuel

petrol 15 - 20 mpg.diesel 18 - 25 mpg [if your lucky]
if diesel 25 mpg
if it is the 2.5 litre petrol about 18mpg the 3.5 v8 12-15mpg,prkins diesal 28-30mpg,
Stage one V8 12 - 18 mpg (but have your heard it?)

2.25 petrol 15 - 20 mpg

2.25 diesel 22 - 28 mpg

My two cents worth: I would go for a retrofit tdi if you can afford it, or a V8 running on LPG.
