Which colour lead(red or black) goes to positive terminal on a car battery?
Answers:
Normally the red goes to (+) positive, and the black goes to the (-) negative. Usually the (-) negative has another wire that is attached to the metal of the body or frame. If these are hooked up backwards it will result in a blown alternator. Hook the (+) positive up first, and then the (-) negative. When you remove them; unhook the (+) positive first, and then the (-) negative.
RED
Red goes to the + positive terminal
refer to the manual when dealing with car electrics you mess it up you could blow all the eletrics in the car and that is an expensive job
It reminds me of beting on a roulette, so my tip is black, all in black!!
Normally !Red to Positive+ and Black to Neg- or ground, in most cars. Follow the cable down to the connection on the frame.(Where it is bolted to the frame or engine, not the starter) this is your ground no matter what color. I have seen some cars using red cables as ground cables, because that is what they had on hand. Have a fun day.
red is positive and always hook positive up first so battery is not grounded. always unhook black first.
Red is positive.
Put the black on the negative first, and put red on positive second. When removing the leads take the red off first, then the black.
The red is the 'live' so don't have the red on before you're grounded using the black.
the red, there should be colors, if not then place some red tape near the positive side
Red goes to positive (+)
Black goes goes to negative (-)
Red
Based on the old house wiring system, replaced because when the red and black got old they became the same colour. The positive is red, fact.
red
RED!! TO + Black to -. If you don't connect them as instructed the battery may explode!!
It depends it you have negative or positive earthing so make sure first before connecting.
red
Whenever I have to remember this, I hear my Dad saying (over and over, lol) "red's positive, black's negative". :)
If I have a doubt as to whether I've remembered it correctly, I just think that black is a negative kind of colour. That usually does the trick.
Normally red. Some older cars and tractors Have positive grounds. The positive terminal will be attached to ground.
I have found some cars have had the battery leads changed and both leads are black. The one that goes to engine or chassis ground is the negative lead
Red.
red
ok usually the red cable will go to the positive terminal however the easiest way to get it right..the positive terminal is always bigger than the negaitive so if in theory you cant put them opn the wrong way wrong 'cos even if you get the largest terminal on the smallest battery post it wont tighten up.you cant go wrong
if you dont know the answer buy a bus pass or a push bike!
As I am a damsel in distress all the time with my car I found out that it is the red to positive and the black for negative.
red = pozzy
If the battery has round posts, the positive which is red, is bigger than the negative, so they only fit one way!
