Is it illegal to drive a car with no shoes on??
Answers:
Not in Ireland
good question lol
it probably is, somewhere
Yes
no, i do it all the time!
as far as I know, it is in GA
don't know about other states
no
it iis where I come from
Why would it be?
I always drive barefoot - I can grip the pedals better.
no it is not illegal in uk anyway
but it should be it would keep some of the crapy women drivers off the road
only kidding im a new man lol
In the UK it is considered you do not have sufficient control over the car if you drive with no shoes and is therefore an offence.
i think it is,
i am sure it is worded that you should wear sensible/suitable footwear while driving.
If it is I should be jailed I do it all the time and drive in my pjs when going for fags! lol
I sure hope not cause i have done it. not a very safe thing to do though. i can tell ya from experience that one alternative you DO NOT want to do is drive a standard with flip flops on. lol that was a nightmare to say the least.
no I took my driving test without shoes as i find it more comfortable & have more grip on the peddles. If it was illegal surely I would have failed my test before leaving the test centre. Glad to say though that I passed!!
I don't know, but it sure is uncomfortable.
i heard it was
that is one of those crazy laws like "eating ice cream on sunday"
not in the UK and there are people that are turned on by seeing people use car/truck pedals with no shoes on ..strange but true
I am sure that if a police officer stopped you for that, he may well find you to not be in 'proper control of the vehicle'. Of course that is debatable but in the main, and I think we would all agree, it is difficult to be in full and positive control of a vehicle without shoes. They obviously spread the load in a safe and positive way on the pedals. Anyway, it would simply be uncomfortable if not unsafe.
yes
It is not illegal to drive without shoes.
Its the law in Germany to wear fitting shoes who aren't loose, so i don't know about England.
Oops - double penalty points for me - when hot I drive with no socks too!
Not unless the smell knocks you out!
i think it is in CA.
but i drive barefoot constantly..its more comfortable..and i have better control
i wear flip flips alot..so there right by my feet anyways
Texas Answer Yes it is illegal to drive with out shoes on, sandles on, flip flops on. The real reason pavement can get really hot and should you puncture a tire, the police and I will see you bare foot standing/ jumping up and down on the side of the hot road. Or walking several miles to get a can of petrol, gasoline or water for an overheated engine OUCH!
It is a driving offence because you are not in complete control of the vehicle and it is usually a fixed penalty
I don't know in the UK but I think as long as you have full control of the pedals its ok.
I really dont know as my car is fitted with tyres.
Yes
yes it is
driving with open toed sandals is also illegal
thats a grey area but if you crash it gives the insurance another excuse not to pay out.
