Control indicator light on dash lights up for around 30 secs when engine is running any 1 know cause?

The car runs fine its just the control indicator light stays on any 1 know the reasons for this and how I can reset it. The car is a 2003 model vauhall astra 2.0hdi mk4 (g)

Do not disconnect the battery !! its telling you that a fault code has been stored by your ECU you need to take it to a garage that has a code reader that will indicate the problem area.Regards Mick.

Any number of reasons including faulty light. I'd ignore it unless the pattern changes.

Disconnect your batteries for 30 minutes.that shold reset anything.

sounds like engine management light. could be any number of faults best get checked asap by either vauxhall or local garage with diagnostic equipment to read stored fault codes.
