My car has been written off, what do I do?
Answers:
1 get the documents together, MOTs V5 etc.
2.Find out how much the car would cost to replace, look in autotrader
3 was there anything special about the car? low mileage or anything
4 Decide for yourself how much the car is worth.
I am assuming that the car is insured on a comprehensive basis or that there is a third party who has accepted responsibility, you can contact me if you need some help
Speak to your mechanic nicely!
What do you mean written off?
get a new one
bus
time for a new one
get annother one
Sadly I had a similar problem about 3yrs ago. Needed a complete engine rebuild/replacement engine for a car but the cost was more than the value of the car (& it cost me £150) to find that out.
I could have had the work done but after spending all that money I would have no garantee that everything else would work faithfully .. ended up decidng to start again & bought another car! Very painful (emotionally & finincially) but that's what I did.
If it ws a car I was in love with (a classic) then the work miht be worth while but ifnot, where is the motivation to potentialy throw yur money away?
Write it off. They did. Duh!
How can i sell my P reg Daewoo Espero for £200.
When damaged (normally a crash) the insurance company puts a replacement value on the vehicle. If the insurer thinks the replacement cost is greater than the value of the car they can declare it totaled at which point they would only pay you the value of the car. Normally if you keep the car it is declared uninsurable.
